Our goal is to be an ideal school for children to learn English.
In order to be an ideal school, we think students need two types of classes. One is native English speaking teachers' “Conversation Class”. Unless we practice the language, we are not able to use it. So the purpose of this class is to practice using English. The other one is “General English Class” taught by Japanese English teachers. Students learn reading, writing, phonics, and basic grammar.
We also have events to learn about and experience western cultures.
We plan day trips, summer camp, summer school or overseas home-stay programs, etc. for students.

Nissait Education Philosophy
At Nissait, we think the purpose of learning English is for communication. By "Communication" we mean a broader ability, which doesn't refer simply to learning a language, but rather the ability by which two or more people can overcome differences such as those relating to nationality, culture or religion, in order to live peacefully together on our planet.
Therefore, our concept of teaching is "To nurture the heart of communication." We hope children will have fun communicating with others as they expand their views and become global citizens.
Nissait's 5 Characteristics
Conversation class is taught by native English speaking teachers, and the lessons are carried out only in English. We focus “how to use English” rather than “to study English” as well as to have fun learning English. We also motivate students to use complete sentences as much as possible. We have small class sizes, therefore each student has an opportunity to speak and can be given individual attention by the teacher.
Maximum number of students in a class: Baby class 4, Under Elementary school 6, Over Kindergarten 8.
Japanese coordinators are educational counselors, and they act as a bridge between the teachers, students and their parents. They also help young students to join in the lessons by demonstrating good answers or sometimes bad answers. Shy students or unconfident students will be very relieved with their help. Japanese coordinators also give lesson feedback to the parents after each lesson.
In order to improve one’s English, reading is necessary. Nissait has two types of classes. One is the conversation classes taught by the native English speaking teachers, and the other is the General English classes taught by the Japanese English teachers. In the conversation classes, the students focus on speaking, and in the General English classes, they learn phonics, reading and writing as well as English grammar.
We have variety of event programs throughout the year. The purpose of these is to allow the students to experience different aspects of Western culture, to use English outside of the classroom, in real situations, and to show the students progress to their parents. We have Easter classes, Halloween parties, day trips, summer camp, summer schools, overseas home-stay programs, and Christmas presentations. Students are able to have fun learning about western culture while also learning English through these events in addition to their regular lessons.
Nissait was established in 1973. We have grown in size and continue to refine our curriculum. You can see the thought put in to every aspect from textbooks choices, curriculum development, listening check sheets and our event programs. Nissait is the ideal school for children to have fun learning English, and actually use English as a means of communication.
